The seminar was held at the Conference Center in Geneva, Switzerland, on 2 July 2010, under the auspices of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the Organization during its third session (2007-2009) to launch the English version of the book on the proceedings of the Second Conference of the Organization entitled "Women in the Concept and Issues of Human Security: Arab and International Perspectives" (Abu Dhabi: 11- 13 November 2008).

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, United Arab Emirates, delivered the opening speech. H.E Ambassador Obaid Al Zaabi, Permanent Representative to the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations European Headquarters in Geneva, and H. E. Mrs. Noura Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Women's Union in UAE and member of AWO's Executive Council, were among the distinguished participants of the seminar along with members of the Executive Council of Arab Women Organization.

The editor of the book, Professor Bahgat Korany of the University of Chicago, Head of the Scientific Team of the Second Conference, professor at the American University in Cairo and the University of Montreal, Canada, and Director of the Forum, presented the summary of the main findings and the recommendations of the book.

The seminar witnessed a large turnout of Arab and foreign academics as well as a large numbers of those interested in the subject of women's human security.
