  The Youth Program  

 

Aims at activating the role of the youth in advancing the status of Arab women. The Program activities include holding dialogue meetings that group young Arab men and women from all AWO Member States to discuss Arab women's issues and ways and means for promoting them. The activities also involve organizing cultural dialogues between Arab youth and young generations from other cultures to share experiences on women’s issues to foster the culture of positive and effective dialogue among the youth and to direct it towards serving women’s issues. Activities also comprise organizing training courses for young people in various fields and their practical application on Arab women’s issues.

Within the context of this program AWO organized the following activities:
Arab-Arab Youth Dialogue Sessions:

* Cairo         5-7 July 2005.
* Tunisia     15-20 July 2006.
* Manama   10-12 November 2006.
* Tunisia      4-7 July 2010.
* Algiers      6-9 July 2011.

Arab-Western Youth Dialogue :

* Abu Dhabi ,15-18 June 2008.
Under the auspices of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the Organization during its third session (2007 -2009).

*Alexandria ,13-15 June 2009.

Arab Youth Strategy for Supporting the Role of Women in Building the Society:

This Strategy was formulated by the Youth and launched by H.R.H. Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of AWO (2005 -2007) as a sideline of the proceedings of AWO’s First Conference, chaired by Her Royal Highness in the Kingdom of Bahrain, from 13-15 November 2006.

Activating the Arab Youth Strategy for Promoting the Role of Women in Building the Society:

* "The Youth and Volunteer Work Forum": held under the auspices of H.E. Mrs. Asmaa al-Assad (Damascus: 13-15 July 2007). A manual for volunteer work was prepared to serve as a guideline for states in preparing education curricula.

* An "Advanced Session in Field Studies, and Methods of Collecting Scientific Data and Their Analyses - Quantitatively and Qualitatively" was held in Abu Dhabi, 30 December,2007 to 13 January,2008 under the auspices of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of AWO during its third session (2007 -2009) .

* Sessions for "Developing Skills of Communication and Dialogue Among Arab Youth" were annually organized since 2008.
